Safety Considerations

What Human Trials Report

A 2025 systematic review covering 47 randomized controlled trials found PEA was generally well tolerated compared with controls. Across the trials, isolated reported adverse effects included drowsiness, palpitations, diarrhea, skin rash, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, sleepiness, and dry mouth. Systematic review

Most controlled PEA studies have followed people for weeks to months rather than years, so longer-term safety is less extensively characterized than short-term use. Safety & pharmacokinetics review
